Inhalation injury

1. Heat → airway oedema
2. Carbon monoxide — binds Hb 240x tighter than O2 → tissue hypoxia
3. Cyanide — from burning plastics → mitochondrial poisoning

Early intubation is critical because oedema progresses over 24-48 hours — wait too long and you can't intubate.
